Magick That Honors Neurodivergence—Not Performance or Perfection

You don’t need a picture-perfect altar or a strict daily ritual to be a “real witch”—especially if your brain works differently. Magick for neurodivergent witches looks—and feels—different. It’s personalized, it’s adaptable, and most importantly, it’s yours.

🔮 Think of this as a guide, not a rulebook.
What I share here reflects my own practice—intuition-led, shaped by lived experience, years of study, and always evolving.
It’s not meant to speak for all witches, paths, or traditions. Your way might look softer, louder, simpler, more ancestral, more chaotic—or something entirely your own.
That’s not wrong. That’s sacred.
Take what resonates. Leave what doesn’t. Trust your magick.
Hi, I’m Michelle—and I want to share something personal about how I approach magick, planning, and spiritual support here on Witchy Weird.
This space was born from the messiness of real life. From motherhood, burnout, brilliance, and the honest truth that structure—when too rigid—just doesn’t work for everyone. Especially not for folks like me.
“Not everyone works in straight lines—and neither does real transformation.”
🌿 Why I Center Flexibility in My Magick
I’m a mom of two, including one amazing kid who’s autistic. That means my days are full of shifting needs, sensory surprises, and a lot of love—and over time, I’ve come to recognize something else: The way I experience the world has always been different, too.
I’ve never had a formal diagnosis, but I’ve carried a quiet knowing for most of my life. Even as a kid, I knew I processed things a little differently. My earliest memories carry that sense—of noticing too much, feeling deeply, and being told I was “too sensitive” or “too much.”
And now, raising a neurodivergent child and learning more about how different brains work, it’s deepened that clarity. So much of what I’ve navigated in life now makes sense in a new light.
If you're curious about more of my story—including how Witchy Weird came to be—you can read that here on my About page. It’s where I share a bit more about my path, my purpose, and the heartbeat behind this space.
As my life shifted—especially stepping into motherhood—It became harder to find space for the small things that nourished my spirit. My magickal practice, spiritual check-ins, even basic self-care often got pushed aside.
The old methods didn’t fit anymore.
So I stopped forcing them—and began creating rituals, tools, and journaling prompts that could bend with me. More forgiving. More real. Still powerful.
And once I did that? Everything opened up —and I finally felt like my magick could meet me where I actually was.
🧭 What This Means (If You’ve Ever Felt “Too Much” or “Not Enough”)
If you’ve ever felt scattered, sensitive, inconsistent, or like your energy doesn’t always cooperate—you’re not alone.
I’ve felt it too.
That push-pull between wanting to create something beautiful and just needing a nap. That guilt when a ritual feels like one more thing on the to-do list. That relief when someone says, “you can do it your way.”
So if you find comfort in flexible check-ins, visual trackers, or rituals that don’t mind if you skip a step—you’re in good company.
However your energy shows up today—or doesn't—your magick still matters. Your connection to magick doesn’t have to look a certain way to be real.
This space is for witches who are doing their best in the real world—not in some imagined perfect version of it. Whether your brain jumps ahead, slows down, or spirals sideways… there’s still room for your magick here.
🧙♀️ What Magick Might Look Like for Neurodivergent Witches
When we honor the real ways our energy moves, magick opens up in new, beautiful ways. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or perfectly timed to be powerful. Sometimes, the simplest moments hold the deepest connection.
Here are a few ways magick might look when you create space for your true rhythms:
- A one-minute grounding spell: placing your hand on your chest and whispering a word of intention before stepping into your day.
- A sensory-friendly altar: built with soft textures, calming scents, and objects that feel soothing instead of overwhelming.
- A spell in motion: whispering affirmations to the trees during a walk, letting the earth carry your wishes.
- A ritual of pauses: lighting a candle in the morning and blowing it out with gratitude at night—even if nothing else fits into the day.
- A spell of softness: choosing a gentle color to wear or a crystal to carry when the world feels too sharp.
✨ Magick isn’t about doing more—it’s about connecting more. Even tiny moments count.
I’ll be sharing even more detailed ideas, rituals, and tools in future posts—but for now, I hope these simple examples help spark new possibilities for how your magick can meet you exactly where you are. 🌿
🌙 How to Start Honoring Your Magick Today
You don’t need to overhaul your life to begin honoring your energy. You can start with something simple, soft, and completely your own.
Here are three small ways you can connect with your magick today:
- Name your energy: Take one minute to describe how you’re feeling right now—no judgment, just noticing.
- Find a symbol: Choose one object near you (a crystal, a leaf, a piece of jewelry) and invite it to become a reminder of your sacredness.
- Breathe with intention: Take three deep breaths, imagining yourself gathering your energy back home.
✨ However you begin, know this: your magick is already within you. There’s no wrong way to reconnect.
